Modul-System has scooped the specialist equipment service supplier of the year award at the inaugural Fleet Van Awards.
Europe’s leading van racking manufacturers, the judges were impressed by several aspects of their entry. Firstly Modul-System’s modular design means you only pay for what you really want and it’s flexible too; if your needs change you can easily adapt the racking. Many customers also appreciate the bespoke designs which allow them to create a purpose built system capable of carrying bulky, hazardous or awkward shaped loads.
In addition, Modul-System racking is made from high strength steel, aluminium and plastic. This gives superb strength whilst at the same time the total weight is about 20% lighter when compared to most systems on the market which are made of conventional mild steel. In reality this means a greater payload and better fuel efficiency, an increasingly important consideration for many fleet operators.
Load safety has always been a key concern at Modul-System and again the judges were impressed by the company’s continued commitment in this area. Modul-System products are tested at Volvo’s crash test facilities near Gothenburg, while Kevin Tillotson who runs the UK operation has written his own ‘white paper’ on the need for stricter regulations on vehicle racking; something that the industry has been listening to and embracing the last two years.
With an already exceptional product it would be easy for Modul-System to rest on their laurels but product development continues to be at the forefront of their operations. This year the company has introduced a new compact series to reflect customer moves towards smaller vans, while ingenious modifications and new products have enabled some customers to increase payloads by almost 100%.
Kevin Tillotson, General Manager of Modul-System International Ltd comments: “If you consider the sheer amount of specialist equipment and accessories available for van operators we’re obviously extremely pleased to have won this award. It’s good to know that the continued research and development which happens at Modul-System has been recognised.”
